Welcome and thanks for your interest in Volunteer Clubs!

What is a Volunteer Club?
It’s a lot like a book club, except you volunteer for a cause once a month instead of getting together to discuss a book.  Here’s how it works:  Organize a group of friends via an e-mail list.  Someone volunteers to be the coordinator for a specific month and that person selects a non-profit and sets up the volunteer event.  Once the event, date, time and location have been established, the coordinator e-mails the group all the necessary details so they can participate. The coordination only takes a couple hours (if that)and then members just have to show up!  Yes, it's that easy!

Why start a Volunteer Club?
Volunteering and giving back is very important.  Everyone is generous and wants to help those that are less fortunate, but life seems to get in the way.  We are so busy that sometimes it’s hard to step back and make time for helping others.  Sometimes we fail to give back because what we're missing is a good plan!  A plan with a specific event, date and time.  By having club accountability, you can go from “I’d like to volunteer more” to “I volunteer once a month!”  Plus, it's a fun way to see your friends AND make a difference once a month.

Can a Volunteer Club make a significant difference?
Without being in a Volunteer Club, you may volunteer just a few times a year and some of your friends may not volunteer at all.  By participating in a Volunteer Club, you will definitely increase your volunteer hours in your community.  For example, if one Volunteer Club with an average of four people volunteers for three hours once a month, they’ll give 144 hours per year to their community!  NOW, multiply that by 50 Volunteer Clubs across the nation and that's 7,200 volunteer hours!
